The Pete & Jakes Super Smooth Leaf Spring Shackles are the industry standard for traditional hot rods and classic Ford restorations. Designed to eliminate the binding and “stiffness” often associated with old-style metal-on-metal shackles, these units provide a significantly smoother ride and improved suspension articulation.

Gold Iridite Plating: Each shackle comes standard with a high-quality gold iridite finish for superior corrosion resistance and a classic “hot rod” look. (Note: Chrome-plated versions are also available for show-quality builds).

Black Urethane Bushings: Unlike original rubber bushings that crack and degrade over time, these high-density urethane bushings are resistant to oils and road salt, ensuring your suspension stays quiet and tight for years.

Because Ford leaf spring widths and eye diameters varied significantly between years and models, it is critical to measure your specific springs before ordering. Most modern reproduction springs and perches utilize a standard 3/4″ eye, but factory originals vary:

Sold as a Pair: Each kit includes two (2) complete shackle assemblies, enough to outfit one axle (either front or rear).

Bushing Prep: For the quietest operation, we recommend a light coating of synthetic grease on the internal surfaces of the urethane bushings during assembly.
